Saturday, July 28th, it was the 6th annual Bainbridge Bluegrass Festival held at Battle Point Park. This was my first attendance to the annual festival. It was a bit of travel to get to the event from where I currently live in Capitol Hill. A 35 minute walk to downtown Seattle, specifically to the Seattle waterfront. From there a 40 minute ferry ride to Bainbridge Island. A first ferry ride for me as well, I will dedicate my ferry riding experience to a separate post to be published at a later time.
Once we arrived to Bainbridge, we spent a short time waiting curbside for the free bus transportation to the grounds of the event. The ride to the fairgrounds showcased the inclusionary area of Bainbridge Island, houses tucked into the shaded woods with long pathways leading to the door fronts.
I had a good time at the festival, it would be an event that I would attend again. My only criticism would be the music lineup. As an avid bluegrass fan I didn’t consider the bands that were featured that day to fall in line with traditional bluegrass.
