Similar to my previous post, dated Dec. 2016, this is a reflection post. I recently read the book ‘Mindfulness’ by Gill Hasson. A fantastic read that makes a strong case for slowing down and being in the moment. I was able to apply this as I recently experienced a medical episode. I applied many of the principles taught in the book. If anything will slow you down, it’s a medical episode. You will start to realize and appreciate the small things, from being able to eat breakfast to doing the laundry. You will also notice what you have neglected. I started site styleannedesign several years ago and was good about the upkeep and publishing new posts. At some point, probably due to many factors, I neglected to put time and effort into something that brings me joy.
As I reset my mindset, replacing flight or fight mentality with mindfulness, I am also resetting where I spend my time. Regardless of how popular styleannedesign is (or any other of my other ventures), what is important to me is producing quality work and sharing with the people.
As the British say, Keep Calm and Carry On. As Nike says, Just Do It.
