This week the Swedish Cultural Center is celebrating St. Lucia. I will be attending Luciafest, Sunday, December 09th. Students from the University of Washington will be performing the traditional Lucia pageant. There will be singing by Svea Male Chorus and the Swedish Women’s Choruses. The performance is followed up by coffee and traditional Swedish cookies, along with dancing around the Christmas tree.

For many Swedes, St. Lucia is the introduction to Christmas. Click on the following link to get an overview of the Nordic celebration
