A Mindset of Thanksgiving

Cliche, perhaps, but it is true. The mindset of thanksgiving should be our daily mindset. Thanksgiving: The expression of gratitude. Too often we get distracted by the things in this life that doesn’t matter. We are looking for more, neglecting to recognize what we already have. Who is to blame for us losing this mindset of thanksgiving? Well in my opinion, society plays the lead role in this. We live in a world saying, you need more, what you have is not enough. Buy this, do this, this will make you happy.

The Thanksgiving holiday reminds us of what really matters in this life, people. It also addresses the topic of food. I believe that we need to take the approach of old European ways, taking time for food. Taking time to prep meals, to make meals, to sit down and enjoy the meal. Because we live in a rushed society, everything we do, including meals are rushed. We are surrounded by convenient food. The convenient life is not the good life, not matter how much you are bombarded with that message.

I will leave you with this, be grateful for all that you have this holiday, and each day following. Take time to enjoy the moment.
