I started 2011 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, a place I called home for over 20 years. For many years I had Seattle, Washington on the mind. It made sense to have the desire to move there, I prefered overcast to blue skies, rain to sunshine, and I was a life long puddle jumper. I wanted to live in a place far from where I grew up, I felt trapped in Pennsylvania. Figuratively, I was in a straight jacket. I needed to be released from the cocoon, to be in a place where I could spread my wings and be free to fly. I was in a catch 22 for sometime, the reality is it takes money to move which was something that was scarce. Through prayer and determination, I landed a temporary job where I was able to save just enough money to move. I scheduled my one way flight to Seattle, fit my belongings into three bags, said the difficult goodbyes to friends and family and on June 1st of this year I was on my way to the unknown.
Fast forward, it’s December 31st evening, a couple hours from the year 2012. I am writing this post, reflecting on where I am, so grateful to God for his provision, leading me every step of the way. Seattle is a crazy, beautiful place; and I wouldn’t have it any other way. This blog will be used as a diary of sorts to showcase my discoveries of my new home and my continued journey through unpredictable life.
